Free Breeze

Free Breeze is a composition by Bobby Hird and Frederic Tepper. It was performed by the legendary Baltimore-based band Climbadonkey in the mid-70s, during the southern California/country-rock days. Climbadonkey split in 1979, but have come together several times in recent years for old time’s sake.

In 2012 Climbadonkey dusted off the old 2-inch recordings, cleaned them up a bit and released their eponymously titled debut CD, to rave reviews. Shortly afterward, guitarist/vocalist Doug Robinson passed away. There was talk of producing a CD of remakes of other Climbadonkey classics, and the project got underway. Drummer John Tracey was able to record five of the drum tracks before passing away in the fall of 2021.

This recording from Used To Be Pete is a tribute to John, now available on Adobo Records.
