Urch Perch

The Urch Perch

Take a step back in time with us to the beginnings of the psychedelic age, with a group who pioneered the genre in the late 60s. Urch Perch was a Baltimore band that recorded a demo tape, recorded in mono (stereo FM was not prevalent back then, the only outlet for progressive and popular music was monaural AM radio) and was produced by the legendary George Massenburg. The band was scouted by Frank Zappa at one point, but were unable to complete the deal.

Five Urch Perch original songs have recently been discovered, recorded way back in the late 60s, and have been digitized, restored and remastered. Their music stays alive with its release of “From the Vault (January 1967)” on Adobo Records on March 17, 2023. Available on all streaming outlets. Adobo is pleased to present this bit of music history.
