Paul F. Newman

Born in Steubenville, Ohio, on March 2, 1964, Paul Newman’s musical journey began at the tender age of eight when he first picked up a guitar. His passion for music grew, and he soon found himself immersed in the local music scene, joining his first band during high school.

After graduation, Newman’s career took flight as he worked with renowned artists like B.E. Taylor Group and Crack The Sky, honing his skills as a production and stage manager, as well as a guitar technician. In 1986, he furthered his musical education at Ohio University’s Audio Production program, where he also embarked on a solo-acoustic career and joined the psychedelic band The Safarians.

Newman’s musical versatility was showcased during his five-year stint with The Crunch, a popular Athens band. With them, he released two CDs and performed over 250 shows annually. His impressive resume includes opening for legendary acts such as The Guess Who, Hot Tuna/Jorma Kaukonen, REO Speedwagon, Eddie Money, and Badfinger.

Known for his meticulous attention to sound production and his extensive repertoire of over 300 songs, Newman continues to captivate audiences with his unique blend of original music and classic covers. His dedication to his craft and his passion for performing have solidified his place as a respected and beloved musician.
